Conquering Mount Kinabalu: A Journey Beyond the Summit

Climbing Mount Kinabalu had always been on my bucket list, but nothing could have truly prepared me for the experience. Rising majestically at 4,095 meters, it’s not just Malaysia’s highest peak—it’s a test of endurance, patience, and spirit. The journey began at Timpohon Gate, where the lush rainforest greeted us. The initial trail was deceivingly gentle, but as the hours passed, the terrain became steeper and more demanding. The humidity and constant uphill climb challenged both my body and mind. Along the way, the diverse flora and fauna distracted me momentarily from the aching muscles and heavy breathing. We reached the base camp at Laban Rata by late afternoon. Watching the sunset above the clouds was surreal, but the real challenge awaited at 2 am when we began our final push to the summit. My Top 3 Speaking Moments That Shaped Me

Public speaking has always been more than just a skill for me—it’s been a journey of self-expression, connection, and growth. Reflecting on my experiences, three speaking moments stand out as the most impactful. 1. My First Keynote Speech Stepping onto the stage for my first keynote was both terrifying and exhilarating. I was the youngest speaker, but I realized that age doesn’t limit your voice. Engaging with passionate young leaders opened up meaningful dialogues and boosted my confidence to speak in collaborative settings. 3. My Motivational Talk at a Local School Nothing compares to speaking d...

While some might feel satisfied with that, deep down, I knew I could do better. My target has always been Band 5, and this journey is still ongoing. The Starting Point: Band 3.5 I still remember the mixed feelings when I first saw my results. 3.5 wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t what I aimed for either. It made me realize that MUET isn’t just about knowing English—it’s about mastering the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in an exam setting. I told myself that this result wasn’t the end; it was just a checkpoint. From that moment, I decided to take MUET more seriously, reflect on my weaknesses, and polish my strengths. The Easiest Part: Reading Throughout my preparation, I found the reading component the easiest. Maybe it’s because I’ve always enjoyed reading articles, novels, and online content. The questions, although tricky ...
